If Otto Porter and Nicholas Batum were obvious opt-ins, then Jerami Grant was just as obvious of an opt-out. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Denver Nuggets is opting out of the last year of his current deal, an enter free agency.
When Grant was acquired from the Thunder last season, while it didn’t receive the fanfare of other roster moves around the league, it was lauded by knowledgeable basketball people as a quality addition by the Denver Nuggets.
The move paid dividends for Denver, as he averaged 12.0 points 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest and in the playoffs he had multiple games , including one against the eventual champion Lakers where Grant was one of the deciding factors.
There will undoubtedly by a myriad of teams that will be vying for Grant’s services.
